  • Load suggestions (Beta) (Load suggestions): New planning tool for 49 CFR §177.848 — optimized load groups for hazard-class segregation and for Class 1 compatibility groups. Available from the menu and as a preview on the segregation check page (registered users see diagrams and restriction details).
  • Restrictions in load suggestions: Conditional (yellow) segregation notes — including class 9 pairs — are listed again in the Restrictions column with expandable detail text.
  • Load group diagram: Each suggestion row now labels load groups clearly (Load group 1, Load group 2, …) with stronger spacing and borders between groups.

  • Substance information (info search): Each entry now opens with an At a glance summary (UN/ID, hazard class, packing group, ERG guide, special provisions) and an HMT snapshot badge showing the active §172.101 table month. On phones and tablets, a Jump to section menu replaces the desktop section bar. Navigation labels are in English; Copy link and Print / PDF are available (print layout hides ads and menus).
  • Search: Substance name / UN autosuggest on the info search and related fields — dropdown stays open while you move the pointer to a suggestion.
  • Segregation workflow: On Add Hazardous Material, a Segregation check quick button appears once you have two items. The segregation check page offers a clearer layout and a printable report (new window → Print → Save as PDF). Labels are consistent: Segregation check (U.S. HMR) vs. Compatibility check (TRGS).
  • Help & legal: Updated Help (scope and disclaimer), Feedback (clearer form and topic categories), Imprint, and Privacy with current operator contact details.
  • PWA: Install HazMat Tool on your home screen (Add to Home Screen) with a simple offline fallback page.
  • Behind the scenes: Cleaner XML/JSON responses from the substance database API; quieter server logs for special-provision lookups and cache misses.

  • Dataset update: The HMR Hazardous Materials Table (49 CFR §172.101) has been rebuilt from the current eCFR release. The active table contains 3,687 rows (approximately 3,005 entries with UN/NA/ID numbers plus alphabetical cross-references). Where entries could be matched to the previous table generation, ERG guide numbers and CAS references were carried forward.
  • Regulatory deltas you will notice in daily use include revised special provisions (column 7), updated vessel stowage codes in column (10B)—for example additional stowage categories for certain Class 8 materials—and new or restructured proper shipping names (including “Articles containing …, n.o.s.” and corrosive aerosols under UN1950). Multi–packing group listings (PG I / II / III) for a single proper shipping name are stored as separate rows, as in prior HazMatTool releases.
  • Compatibility checks, substance information, special-provision lookup, and search all use the updated table. If you rely on a specific UN entry for compliance documentation, verify critical rows against the official §172.101 text or your company’s dangerous goods procedures.
